Before the
tall glass doors were opened this morning at ten, hundreds of excited customers
were gathered outside the huge main entrance大門 of a renowned有名的department store for its much-awaited等待已久的 anniversary
sale周年慶. Some of
them had been camping there for two days, despite the low temperatures. They
had planned for weeks what to buy and where to go once inside the store. The
moment the doors swung open, it was all madness. The exhausted customers suddenly came alive瞬間回神過來, dashing
forward向前直衝 in all
directions with clear intentions意圖 and destinations. In no time立刻 was every inch of the store filled
with people, who were eager to渴望 look at what was on offer and ask
about what best deals they should snatch搶到.
The hustle and bustle喧鬧嘈雜 of the shopping floors did not stop for some hours. Some
customers with purchases購買物 in their hands were still wandering徘徊 in search of a good deal. Other customers were less lucky and
still in a frenzy瘋狂, looking around, yet not sure what to
buy. Scuffles小衝突 broke out between some irritated易怒的 customers over a super cheap TV or
some fancy花俏的 pants; fortunately they did not degenerate
into演變成了 something
serious. By four in the afternoon, the crowds had thinned
out變少, with most of the customers content
and gone with the best bargains. The customers left behind were still unwilling
to give up easily as they thought something good might have escaped their attention逃過他們的注意. Some
latecomers came to the store to push their luck碰碰運氣, hoping to pick up something of their
liking that was value for money.
